Obituary from the Minutes of the Methodist Conference 1950, page 139

Born 1883. Becoming a candidate for the Ministry he served a pre-collegiate year at Christchurch, and then began his training at Headingley. He entered the Ministry in 1906, and on leaving college he laboured in a number of country circuits, including Northumberland and the Midlands.

He was a conscientious student with a strong sense of vocation, but ill-health compelled him to be a Supernumerary in 1912, since when he has borne increasing weakness with exemplary courage.

After many years of suffering he passed away on 1st February 1950, in the forty-fourth year of his ministry and the sixty-seventh of his age.
