Rev William Richard Rogers 1860 to 1861

A year in Truro

In 1860 Conference decided to sent William Richard to Truro as the Superintendent Minister with Reverend John W Etheridge PhD. as his Junior Minister and Reverend Robert Young as a supernumerary minister.

On 18th December 1860 at William Richard’s home in Truro Vean Terrace, his wife, Mary Ann, gave birth to another daughter Fanny Theresa.

The railway had reached Truro in May 1859 and it looks as if William Richard made use of it. When the 1861 census was taken William Richard was in Plymouth while his wife and family were at home in Truro.

When William Richard left Truro he moved to Oxford and it would have been possible for him to have undertaken that journey with his family by train.
